server bugs?

wow I'v had some major league {ACR} is cool problems with getting a server up and running recently.

ok, so I get everything all nice and tidy and running, and it reads the server.cfg ect ect, rcon works fine
but now I have admin set to my guid, and it just says " you don't have permission to use this command " whenever I try anything.



any iddeas?

did u check all the flags? some qvm dnt use the * for all commands the help flag might be HELP so in the admin.dat replace the * with ALLFLAGS

This is not my section, i can barely create a webisite, let alone a server.

yes i looked at the flags, and I'm using lakitu7 and p-g qvms, so they both use *

Maybe for you atlantis, but for what vyrus just said, all i here is blah blah blah

I take that statement as a compliment to my abilities to communicate

if using trem fusion this is how easy it is to make a server. go to the main trem dir execute tremded.exe and after its done starting type something like map atcs and your done.

but for mods, special maps, etc... it seems harder

not too much, and atl, that's not really how to start a server.....


go to console, and type something like this:

./tremded +set dedicated # +set fs_homepath ~/lots/of/spots +set fs_basepath ~/lots/more/stuff +set fs_extrapath ~/even/more/stuff +set extrapath someweirdfile.pke +exec server.cfg

I'ts a easy and quick way to setup a server and would probably be best used as a listen server.

Also the definition of a game server by Wikipedia is "A game server is a remotely or locally run server used by game clients to play multiplayer video games. Most video games played over the Internet operate via a connection to a game server."

Because I can connect to this server with a client and play and I can connect clients from other computers it qualifies as a working server.

yes, but a sucky one, because u din't add any extra commands, such as no server.cfg file, so no rcon, ect...
