what about for a secondary laptop? i was considering getting one because i need to learn to use OSX and also my laptop is kinda heavy and anti-portable

Then I suggest just sticking OSX on a secondary partition and not buying a laptop JUST because of it. If your laptop is anti portable why didn't you just get a desktop?
Also why do you need to learn to use OSX?

if you want a new laptop DONT GET A MAC
as this page above shows, ITS OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE!!!
get a reasonably priced other machine and you can put osx on it

( personally i didn't think you really COULD learn more about osx
than you do in about the first 5 minutes... )

I got a laptop because I needed portability, but it lacks maneuverability. Its large and I find it awkward to actually put on my lap. And I need to become familiar with OSX for school.

So even.laptop wise its shit?

i just checked. The Cheapest new mac is a Macbook air and the baseline for that 1K. Does you non portable laptop even cost that much?

my laptop cost $1600. i suppose i could just learn to carry it around.

The Shiny. I read this 1 thing on QDB where this guy took some ipod headphones and attached them to a Walkman and walked down in the "ghetto" and got a lot of angry looks from people that looked like they would mug him, then he pulled out the Walkman and suddenly everyone felt sorry for him and apparently one guy even offered him a dollar. Moral of the story, people like name brand stuff. Customization isn't very name brand looking so your unsure of what your getting.

seb if they updated it from the previous outdated crap they are enhancing the experience of the rats who never left apple. Also with macs not supporting any real mainstream games getting 4 gpus is the dumbest thing you can do.

mhm. i was considering it, but once i saw that the "enhanced" experience was their ONLY reason for why its better than a pc, yeahhhhhh {ACR} is cool that. i'll just get a netbook or something if i want one i can carry around more easily
