HOWTO get a custom HUD

I was just wondering, those of you who are using a custom HUD, where did you get it? And, if it is not too much to ask of you, would you be nice enough to also post the install instructions?

Well Linux, honestly I have no idea what a HUD is anyway. I've heard people talk about them alot though. So yeah when someone answers Linux's question perhaps they could tell me what a HUD is as well. Thanks. Henry

well linux just go to www.tremulous.net, then go to forum and type on the search bar HUD there is always new HUD's and it should tell you how to install it inside the topic or the comments

HUD stands for Heads Up Display aka your health, ammo, map, etc. And Lin can you please post a link for the HUD you pick, I would like to see if maybe I would like it as well (I get bored of the normal HUD).

thats not a HUD. A HUD is an edit to the Data-1.1.0.pk3 file.

well ok but that is still part of it.

I figured it out finally i know how to get a custom guid yes yes yes!!!!

it's easy for linux download the files off interent/ tremulous.net then extract files then copy files then go to .tremulous did u notice the dot before trem? thats important then go in base folder then create a folder name it ui then paste files into ui folder then go in autogen.cfg file and search for the words "hudfiles" you should find somthing that looks like this "seta cg_hudFiles "ui/hellrider-v2.0.cfg"" where mine says hellrider delete that part. (yours will say somthing else where mine says hellrider) after u delete that word add the text of the name of the hud u have chosen!!! and that should do it

I'd first like to thank you all very much for your kind support (I'm thinking of Bug and Dr. Mario). I finally got it working and it's pretty useful and aesthetically-pleasant. For the records, I picked the first one in Bug's list (the "Adjustable HUD"), and I'm pretty pleased with my choice.

What I did was the following: I downloaded the archive from the site, I went in my local tremulous directory (on Linux it's /home/$USER/.tremulous), then into the base/ directory inside it. There, I extracted the "ui/" directory from the archive and ended up with <tremdir>/base/ui. Then, I went in tremulous, opened the console (using the key left of the "1" key), and typed "/exec ui/mox_install.cfg". That was all.
