Servers Are Down

Setting up a server is no problem for most of us. I have a personal server behind me right now but just no open ports. As for the server changing host monthly, I don't really think that would work out well.

it really wouldn't matter, as long as you have it all set up nicely and you know how trem works
i can help with nice simple server setups i just need the time to throw it together,
but i cant ( unfortunately ) help with individual port forwarding, that's up to you

but i do agree, home servers would be a much cheaper way to set this up and probly more effective
with the dwindling player base

I think you need to have, at minimum, a 1 mb/s upload speed to not have lag on an unlimited server.

So i see this as the only solution, right now.
My adsl is 1Mbps upload,
But its not the bw that counts, pings is something different, i also sharing my adsl to three other houses via wireless dishes.

hehe i have a 70 mbps upload ... too bad i kent use it >.<

Also yeah, you're right, if your in Greece pings will be a problem.

I am willing to pay for the server to be online 24/7, Bug said its $25 a month so about £15 for me, which i can manage
after all I get paid about £70-£100 a week from the hours i do.

I just don't want ACR to die, it's only clan which has people i love to play with, take the piss(mbaud), nd overall to be with.

So it's up to you guys...

Icaro 1st, me and newb, already run a server.
It is located at Athens-Greece, at my work.
On an Ubuntu 11 Desktop, HP Proliant Server, with 4GB ram and 2 Xeon Cpus, 4 cores, static ip.

Its called MOONLIGHT

YOu are all welcomed there.

But first of all we need the qvm of the ACR Unlimited if you like to give it to us.

I don't know if we keep all mods, but a lot of them for sure.

ACR is more than just a server. We are a group of gamers that developed our friendships through tremulous, so even if the server goes down we are still ACR and there will always be an ACR until we all forget each other. (And I don't plan on it) I would contribute a bit for the server if you decided to keep it up, of course. Even though I don't play much anymore I will still stand behind my clan! I think that we can keep in touch through this forum and continue playing other games together. (Minecraft anyone???) The memories I have with this clan are too valuable to me to simply leave forever, so I'm behind you guys whatever the decision.

Bug, I'm also headed to college for computer science! We should collaborate on a project someday.

i think i posted a server .zip for windows, just swap for a linux binary if you want to run on that
but for dev i recommend linux and just get the build dependant libs for trem =]

Latest News.
[ACR]EUROPE server is up and running at my garage(Athens-Greece).

Moonlight server will be down in a few days and [ACR]EUROPE will move at my work, better pings there, better server(Hp Proliant with static ip).
Any of ACR admins want to have an admin level they can connect and will be setleveled asap.

Thank to Vyrus for giving us the qvm.

We already used the Acronym ACR, can we keep using it? So anyone from old players knows to what server he connects?

Ahh, the notorious prophet lives. I doubt you, Skep, can affiliate your memoirs of ACR with "taking the piss" out of me. Honestly, now that the months have passed, you didn't so much as anger me through insults, but more so annoy and irritate me. Kind of like a fly, or a mosquito if you wish. Anyway, ACR was a great time in my video-game history. Unfortunately, the only one who I still remain in contact with, somewhat, is Goob. I must admit, the only ones I would want to keep in contact with are Vyrus, I.B., and Atlantis, as well as Goob. But anyway, cheers to everyone.

And yes, Whitegunner, I do remember you. Now that I think about it, where's Spock? I liked him too.
